Riviera Nayarit, in the state of Nayarit, extends 190 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, and includes one of Mexico’s most beautiful coastal regions. At just above the 20th parallel, it is located closer to the Equator than Hawaii. Much of it is uninhabited, and it is dotted with quaint fishing villages on the more accessible beaches. Mountain villages are strewn across the jungle-laden mountains to the east. This is the Sierra Madre range – the coffee country of Nayarit. Home range of the famous jaguars of the Sierra Madres.
